Fashioned Feathers
Dunedin’s answer to Wearable Arts is happening again May 2010 with the return of Fashioned Feathers with public designers charged with assembling garments featuring down and feathers.
Fashioned Feathers was initially a quirky idea that in 2006 captured the imagination of established and aspiring designers from all over New Zealand. Next year will be no exception.
The criteria for entering Fashioned Feathers remains the same as pervious years - all entrants will be given a bag of down and feathers and white down proof cotton fabric as a starting point. It’s pretty much a blank canvas – limited only by your imagination, designers can use any other materials to complete their outfits.
Fashioned Feathers will again feature well-known Designers from around New Zealand whose garments will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to a chosen charity. A Guest designer judge, yet to be named will be on the judging panel.
